Overview

Join this 12-day adventure exploring the majestic volcanoes and landscapes of southern Chile. We begin in the city of Temuco (ZCO), from where we’ll head to the picturesque mountain village of Malalcahuello. Here, we’ll spend the first 4 days skiing, exploring its forests and volcanoes.

Our journey continues to Pucón, immersing ourselves in breathtaking landscapes and enriching cultural experiences. In Pucón, we’ll enjoy 2 additional days of skiing, taking advantage of the unique scenery this region offers. Subsequently, we’ll move to the Osorno area for another 2 days of skiing, culminating our expedition in the charming city of Puerto Varas or at its airport (PMC).

Throughout the trip, we will have the option to ascend some of the 10 different volcanoes considered, as well as explore multiple backcountry areas. Daily route decisions will be based on group conditions, weather, and snow, ensuring a safe experience tailored to the best available conditions.

Beyond skiing, we’ll relax in cozy hot springs and participate in cultural activities that will bring us closer to the traditions of the region’s native peoples. Local gastronomy will be another highlight, allowing us to savor the authentic flavors of southern Chile.

Our adventure begins at Temuco Airport (ZCO), where we’ll meet as a group and start our journey. From there, we’ll head to the charming mountain village of Malalcahuello, our base for the next few days. After checking in, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner, followed by a safety briefing, gear check, and rental equipment handout if needed.

Day 2: Skiing at Corralco

We kick off our first full day of skiing with a warm-up session at Corralco Ski Resort, located at the base of Lonquimay Volcano. Here, there will be the option to summit the volcano, offering unparalleled views of the surrounding region. After a thrilling day on the slopes, we’ll return to the lodge to rest.

Days 3 to 5: 3 Days of Backcountry Skiing in Malalcahuello

Over the next three days, we’ll immerse ourselves in the backcountry of Malalcahuello, with options to ascend some of the area’s most iconic volcanoes, including Llaima, Sierra Nevada, Lonquimay, and Tolhuaca. Depending on the group and weather, we’ll also explore other backcountry areas such as the surrounding tree skiing zones.

Day 6: Transfer to Pucón & Cultural Activity

After an exciting few days in Malalcahuello, we’ll make our way to Pucón. Along the journey, we’ll enjoy a traditional Chilean lunch. Upon arrival, we’ll take part in a local cultural activity, followed by a relaxing visit to the region’s renowned hot springs.

Days 7 to 8: 2 Days of Backcountry Skiing in Pucón

These two days will be dedicated to skiing the backcountry surrounding Pucón, with the chance to summit volcanoes such as Villarrica, Quetrupillán, or Lanin, depending on conditions. The landscapes here are some of the most scenic in the country.

Day 9: Transfer to Osorno

We’ll continue our journey to Osorno. Along the way, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch. After arriving and checking into our accommodation, we’ll have some time to rest before the demanding days of skiing ahead.

The final days of our adventure will be spent skiing in the Osorno region, where we’ll have the opportunity to ascend volcanoes such as Osorno, Puyehue, or Casa Blanca. We’ll also ski in areas around the Antillanca and Osorno resorts, known for their impressive landscapes and volcanic terrain.
